United Orchids Inc. (est. 1999, New York) specializes in the growth and development of Phalaenopsis orchids — from parent plant to finished bloom.
We maintain strong ties with our parent company Yu Pin Technologies (est. 1993, Chia Yi, Taiwan). That relationship gives us exclusive rights to scientifically advanced orchid stock and patented novelty colors you won’t find from other growers.
The heartiness of our plants shows in the long thick spikes, robust green leaves, and the impressive number of oversized blooms. Our three locations across the United States — New York, Colorado, and Illinois — keep supply consistent and delivery prompt.
We take great pride in our family of three companies, and we look forward to providing you with the best Phalaenopsis orchid stock available in the industry.
Avoid overwatering — it leads to the demise of many more orchids than underwatering. Constant wetness will cause the roots to rot, which leaves the plant without a means of taking up nourishment. The leaves begin to droop and the plant will eventually die. A good soak when the bark medium is dry through is almost always enough.
When the last flower drops, your orchid isn’t finished — it’s resting. Keep it in bright, indirect light, water on the same schedule, and feed lightly. With cooler night temperatures in the fall, a new spike will often emerge from the base of the plant.
There are many reasons buds fall off before flowering:
